The more I look at that food comparison photo, the more pissed off I get. Not just because the prices are way more here than what is listed, but also because it’s class-ism bullshit. Maybe that wasn’t the intention, but that’s how it’s coming across. Anyone who can tell others to “just eat healthier” or “just pay more, it’ll be better in the long run” have obviously never had an issue with making ends meet.
You think I don’t want to eat healthier? I’d love to eat healthier! I try to, even with my too-goddamn-sensitive tastebuds and gag reflex. But you know what? I don’t have time to prepare a full meal, then have to handwash all the dishes and pans I used to prepare it. If it weren’t for my food card, I’d be even worse off.
If you can do all that and still have the nerve to tell me to just eat healthier, then I’ll expect YOU to pay for my food. I’ll expect YOU to cook it for me. Just don’t expect me to pay you back.

It’s even harder when you have several mouths to feed. I have a friend who’s completely for natural and healthy food, to a point where he tried to convince me to changing my eating habits. Unlike him though, I don’t have 5000+ dollars in my bank account and I don’t have a job. He has the money for it, but I don’t.
